What is an Electrical Apprenticeship?

An electrical apprenticeship is a job that combines both work and structured training.

Apprenticeships include:

  • Paid employment under an appropriate industrial arrangement (for example, an award or enterprise agreement)

  • A training contract that is signed by the Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the employer & the apprentice and registered with either the NSW Department of Education and Communities or the Department of Training & Tertiary Education ACT.

  • A qualification, delivered by a Registered Training Organisation, which meets the requirements of a declared apprenticeship that leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
