An electrical apprenticeship is a job that combines both work and structured training.

Apprenticeships include:
  • Paid employment under an appropriate industrial arrangement (for example, an award or enterprise agreement)
  • A training contract that is signed by the Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the employer and the apprentice and registered with either the NSW Department of Education and Communities or the Department of Training & Tertiary Education ACT.
  • A qualification, delivered by a Registered Training Organisation, which meets the requirements of a declared apprenticeship that leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
